Collaborative multi-platform dictionary of medical and health terms accessible in Spanish sign language
SignaMed is an interactive multi-platform application that allows users to consult a dictionary by recording and viewing signs for medical terms in Spanish Sign Language (LSE).
The ultimate goal of SignaMed is to launch a tool that enables interaction between hearing people and deaf people in a medical or healthcare setting (health centres, hospitals, pharmacies), allowing them to consult and practise the signs in the dictionary and thus improve their communication skills.

SignaMed is primarily aimed at deaf people who use Spanish sign language as their main means of communication. It is also aimed at all hearing people who know how to communicate in LSE or are learning it (interpreters, family members). For these two groups, the platform will allow them to record signs to train the automatic LSE recognition algorithms. It currently consists of 82 terms but will grow with citizen participation, and interactive tests will be incorporated to aid learning for other groups, such as the health sector.
